What PetMatch is
PetMatch is an introduction service that puts pet owners in contact with each other and with shelters. We are neither sellers nor buyers of animals, we do not take part in the agreements users reach, and we do not process payments between them. Any transaction — a mating, an adoption, an exchange — is the sole responsibility of the parties involved.
Who can use it
You must be 18 or over. Accounts belonging to minors are deleted as soon as they are detected, without prior notice.
What is not allowed
- Asking for or sending money inside the chat, for any reason.
- Listing animals of breeds whose ownership or breeding is prohibited in your jurisdiction.
- Impersonating another person, a shelter or a veterinary clinic.
- Posting photos of animals that are not yours or that you did not take.
- Harassing, threatening or contacting anyone who has blocked you.
- Automating use of the app or extracting other users' data.
Moderation and penalties
Reports are reviewed within 4 hours where there are signs of animal cruelty, fraud or the involvement of minors, and within 24 hours in all other cases. Three upheld reports suspend an account; five close it. Every report of animal cruelty or of a suspected stolen pet goes through human review: there is no automated decision in those cases.
Veterinary disclaimer
Nothing PetMatch publishes — breed guides, compatibility warnings, suggested health tests — is veterinary advice. We do not certify any test and we do not verify any pedigree. Always consult your vet before making a decision about your animal's health or reproduction.
Your account
You can export your data as JSON and delete your account from within the app at any time. Deletion has a 30-day grace period, during which signing in cancels it; after that, the deletion is permanent.
Where it is available
PetMatch can be used in Panama, the United States, Spain, Colombia and Argentina. Each city opens when there are enough pets nearby for the service to work; until then you can create your account and join your city's waiting list, but the feed may show few pets or none.
Subscription
PetMatch Premium is a monthly or yearly subscription that renews automatically until you cancel it. You cancel it where you bought it: in Google Play if you subscribed from the app, or in PayPal if you subscribed on the web. When you cancel you keep what you paid for until the end of the current period. The price is shown in your currency before you pay, and Google or PayPal charges it.
Consumer protection
Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country of residence.
Changes
If we make a substantial change to these terms we will let you know inside the app before it takes effect.
